The purpose of Solidarity Seeds Initiative is three fold:
To increase self-sufficiency and community well-being by advocating for the sharing and saving of seeds.
To encourage the preservation of heirloom and landrace plant genetics.
To educate farmers and agricultural workers on the benefits of cooperative ownership, workplace democracy, and mutual aid.
What we do:
Organize seed swaps and plant sales to help build community and share resources.
Raise awareness about seed libraries and laws related to seed sharing and saving, and corporate agriculture’s attempts to limit these practices.
Provide informational seminars on worker ownership and worker cooperative formation.
Give away seeds and plants whenever possible at local events.
Solidarity Seed Initiative is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax deductible.
